Abstract

The article analyzes the periodization of educational processes in Ukraine related to the development of information and communication technologies in the maritime education system in Ukraine in the second half of the 20th - at the beginning of the 21st century.
The author’s periodizations of the pedagogical ideas and maritime education development in Ukraine are considered (the history of maritime education in Ukraine, the formation and development of naval education in this country, the development of physical and mathematical training in maritime educational institutions, the study of foreign languages in higher education institutions of Ukraine with the maritime specialization, the formation and development of monitoring students’ educational achievements of the aforementioned institutions, development of socio-cultural component of future marine navigators professional education, etc.).
It is concluded that during the researched period information and communication technologies in the maritime education system of Ukraine underwent significant development since their use significantly contributes to the increase in the effectiveness of training, its individualization and diversity. It is established that the events taken place in society had a significant impact on the development of the researched historical-pedagogical process throughout the selected time period, but unevenly. This makes it possible to distinguish separate periods of information and communication technologies development in the maritime education system in the second half of the 20th - at the beginning of the 21st century.
Prospects for further research are outlined which can be aimed at a more detailed study of separate periods of information and communication technologies development in the marine education system of Ukraine within certain chronological limits, the selection of which is connected with numerous reforms taken place at the aforementioned time.
