Abstract

The article analyzes the development and current trends in the digital transformation of pharmaceutical education in the context of global challenges and technological changes in the first quarter of the 21st century. It is determined that the implementation of innovative technologies is a key condition for improving the quality of professional training of future pharmacists, fostering their digital and professional competence, as well as developing critical thinking and practical skills. It is shown that the process of digitalization of the educational environment involves not only technical modernization but also the rethinking of pedagogical approaches, shifting the focus from reproductive learning to interactive, personalized, and competency-based education.
Based on an analysis of scientific sources and the practical experience of medical and pharmaceutical educational institutions, the article characterizes innovative educational technologies such as blended learning, simulation platforms, gamification, and the use of VR/AR technologies and interactive laboratories (e.g., Labster, ChemCollective, Pharmacy Simulator). Their potential for ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and quality of the educational process is revealed. It is substantiated that the effective digital transformation of pharmaceutical education requires a comprehensive strategy aimed at developing teachers’ digital competence, updating infrastructure, implementing adaptive LMS systems, and creating proprietary electronic courses.
It is emphasized that in the context of innovative technology development in the first half of the 21st century, digitalization contributes to the formation of a new educational philosophy centered on an active, conscious, and technologically competent learner. The research results confirm that innovative digital technologies act as a catalyst for enhancing the effectiveness of pharmaceutical training by integrating interdisciplinary knowledge, practical skills, and the values of professional ethics. Strategic directions for the development of digital pharmaceutical education are proposed, including systematicity, continuity, evidence-based practice, and a focus on the needs of the modern student.
