ARTISTIC AND AESTHETIC ACTIVITY AS A MEANS OF FORMING THE LIFE COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS
Abstract
The article is devoted to consideration of the problem of development of life competence of representatives of the younger generation, determination of the role of artistic and aesthetic development of personality in solving this social and educational task. Having analyzed scientific and pedagogical literature on the specified problem, the authors focused on the search for opportunities for artistic and aesthetic activity for the formation of life competence of students in wartime and they offered examples of the updated content of the relevant work in the institution of extracurricular education which have been characterized. The article emphasizes the need to develop self-regulation skills in children to
normalize the psychophysical state, achieve balance in the emotional sphere, taking into account the traumatic experience acquired in tough times.
Considering the fact that the vulnerability of the emotional sphere, which is characteristic of children of different age groups and manifests itself in different ways, the authors insist on the importance of purposeful activities to increase the level of their emotional intelligence. Art is considered to be a powerful resource, means, and effective tool capable of positively influencing this process. The artistic and aesthetic development of children and adolescents has a significant potential when it takes place not only in schools, but also in extracurricular educational institutions, provided they function properly.
Accordingly, the work experience of extracurricular art education institutions acquires great value. The authors make an attempt to reveal the possibilities of organizing artistic and aesthetic activities as a means of forming students life competence in wartime, using the example of extracurricular activities of the Kherson educational and aesthetic complex "Art School". The highlighted experience characterizes the forms and methods, as well as the updated content of the institution's activities, applied in pre-war and war times.
