HISTORICAL AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC PRECONDITIONS FOR STRENGTHENING THE ROLE OF TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN UKRAINE (THE MID-TWENTIETH CENTURY)
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of historical and socio-economic preconditions for strengthening the role of technical higher education institutions in Ukraine (the mid-twentieth century).
It is emphasized that the second half of the 20th century in Ukraine was marked by the need to rebuild the state and its entire infrastructure after the German-Soviet (Great Patriotic) War, as well as the intensification of the scientific and technological development of the state and all its technical industries (heavy industry, mining industry, nuclear (atomic) industry, mechanical engineering, electric power industry, metallurgical industry, chemical industry, oil and gas industries, etc.).
It is noted that in the post-war years, the state’s significant interest in engineering and technical training was represented through legislative support, in particular, the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated August 17, 1947, No. 2917 "On the Training of Engineers and Technicians for the Agricultural Machinery Industry", the Law of the USSR dated December 24, 1958 "On Strengthening Ties between School with Life and Further Development of the Public Education System in the USSR", and others.
Attention is drawn to the increased development and opening of new technical higher education institutions of Ukraine (the mid-twentieth century), in particular, "Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogic Academy" (1958, Kharkiv), "Vinnytsia National Technical University" (1960, Vinnytsia), "Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University" (1960, Zhytomyr), "Cherkasy State Technological University" (1960, Cherkasy), "Chernihiv Polytechnic National University" (1960, Chernihiv) and others.
