SOURCE BASE OF RESEARCH OF THE PROBLEMS OF EDUCATION OF STUDENT YOUTH IN VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF UKRAINE IN 1958-1991

Abstract

The article analyzes the source base of research on the education of student youth in vocational and technical education institutions during 1958–1991.
The author states that the source base for the education of students in vocational and technical education institutions from 1958 to 1991 includes a wide range of historical and pedagogical sources, in particular, informational materials, memoirs, journalistic and scientific works, archival information, notes, etc., monographs, dissertations, etc. The need for a critical analysis of sources to avoid one-sided interpretation of events and facts, delineation of the framework of the scientific discussion, introduction of controversial issues into it, determination of a thorough basis of research is indicated.
On the basis of the comparative analysis of historical and pedagogical works on this issue (O. Danilova, M. Honchar, Yu. Kuzmenko, V. Kulchytskyi, O. Petrenko, N. Slyusarenko, etc.), an own classification of the source base of research on the education of schoolchildren in institutions of vocational and technical education in 1958-1991, which includes the following groups: regulatory and legal sources that regulated the activities of vocational and technical education institutions, in particular the educational component, during the researched period; archival sources; periodicals; narrative sources, which can be conditionally divided into two subgroups: published in the Soviet era; printed after Ukraine gained independence; electronic information resources (digitized versions of published sources of the studied period and modern manuscripts).
It is concluded that already from the second half of the 20th century, more attention was paid to the problem of the development of vocational and technical education, as well as the education of young students in these institutions. This, in turn, was reflected in a significant number of historical and pedagogical studies, monographs, educational and methodological manuals, scientific and scientific and methodological articles, etc.
