Problems of modernizing education of the navy armed forces officers

Abstract

The article reveals some of the problems faced by the educational-professional training of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular the Navy of the Armed Forces. The main challenges that modern educational and professional training should overcome, are outlined, for instance, communication at different levels of social life, professional ethics; readiness for combat and civilian tasks; awareness of responsibility for made decisions; psychological readiness to perform professional duties; the use of information and communication technologies as the basis for the management of military equipment and high technology equipment, etc.
The basic principles of preparation of future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are outlined: professional orientation; scientific systematic and consistent; complexity; accessibility; maximum approximation of the conditions of training to the situation of real combat operations; clearness; continuity.
It is stated that the training of Navy officers of the Armed Forces is carried out in a higher military educational establishment, but is based on two previous levels of training: a secondary education institution and specialized colleges. The training of Navy officers can be carried out in various forms of postgraduate training: postgraduate military courses, advanced training, command training, and so on.
It is emphasized that the modern Navy officer should have not only professional, economic and management knowledge and skills, several foreign languages, understanding of the chosen field, specialized training in one or more types, but also skills of culture of communication, interpersonal interaction in professional stress and conflict situations, possess a number of professionally important personal qualities (responsibility, courtesy, stress resistance, positive thinking, etc.) that determines Navy officer’s professional and personal culture level.
Attention is drawn to the fact that in modern conditions the training of a modern military officer should be aimed at the active search for innovative forms and methods of military education management in the context of acquiring a future military officer of professionalism.
