Content areas of pedagogical teacher training in higher educational institutions of Ukraine

Abstract

The article defines basic content areas of pedagogical teacher training in higher educational institutions, based on the principles of humanization and democratization of education and integration of educational activities into the European information space as basic processes that open the possibility of progressive changes in the modern educational system and ensure the release of creative potential. There has been revealed the influence of the humanistic and the democratic tendencies on the formation of qualitatively new agent-agent relations between the personality and all the participants of the educational process, the development of a sense of responsibility for one’s own activities, self-initiative as the main driving force of personal progress, students’ harmonious formation.
It has been substantiated that the external manifestation of these transformations is priority of morality, abandonment of the dictatorship of man over man and implementation of the human right to choose the subject, methods of activity, positive motivation, improvement of human abilities, strengthening of practical and upbringing aims of disciplines related to social content which provide education in languages and literature. It is emphasized that we need to apply the so-called activity approach to the content of higher education, which creates conditions for democratic construction of the educational content and means providing multilevel material (in order to take into account the peculiarities of teaching and upbringing of children with different abilities and needs), specialized training, in-depth study of certain subjects, ability to use information, to independently analyse processes and phenomena happening around, to solve creative tasks, to adapt to new conditions, to have opportunities to take a non-standard approach to solving life problems.
