THE ESSENCE OF THE CONCEPT OF «TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS IN TECHNICAL MAJORS»

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the essence of the concept of «training of specialists in technical majors». To distinguish it, the interpretation of the relevant concepts has been analysed, in particular, «technical education», «training», «professional training» / «professional education» and «engineer», which gave an opportunity to detail the key components of these concepts and distinguish their characteristic features.

It has been emphasized that technical educational establishments prepare for the state those specialists who provide the activity of the technology-industrial complex, which is one of the basic components of economic development of society, and therefore, it directly influences the development of the state.

It has been highlighted that the success of professional training is directly related to students’ positive motivation to study. Therefore, in the course of professional training, the individual abilities of all students, their interests, inclinations, creative potential through productive subjective interaction among the subjects of the educational process, which would set up a continuous process of students’ self-development and self-improvement in the professional field, their rapid adaptation to change, mobility, teamwork and more, should be taken into account and realized.

The author’s interpretation of the concept of «training of specialists in technical majors» in the context of higher education has been represented. It is a purposeful, highly organized process of mastering future specialists of a wide range of majors in higher technical educational establishments (universities, academies, institutes, colleges) for various branches of science, technology and culture, which involves students’ mastering a set of fundamental, natural and scientific, technical and humanitarian knowledge, practical skills, acquiring appropriate personal qualities, positive motivation and readiness for a continuous process of self-development and self-improvement, rapid adaptation to change, and mobility that give them an opportunity to effectively perform their functional responsibilities in professional activities.
