The article notes that the problem of the educational space of the Southern part of Ukraine at that time is the use of Ukrainian as the language of the indigenous population and Russian as the language of the former metropolis, which is caused primarily by historical events of previous years. The main tendencies of gradual transformation of the content of advanced training of teachers-philologists in the South of Ukraine under the influence of the state language policy which was carried out during the corresponding time intervals are highlighted.
The study allowed us to conclude, however, that education is a social factor in the region. The dominance of the Russian language in the educational process of schools in the period under study is caused by insufficient attention to the eradication of this problem in general and in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education in particular. The work of a teacher of philology in the modern educational space and, as a consequence, the entire system of postgraduate pedagogical education is focused on the mandatory use and mastery of students in the state (Ukrainian), native (national, regional) languages and at least one foreign (usually , in the language of the Member States of the European Union (English, German, French, Swedish, etc.) in the language, primarily in the field of communication.
