REFORMATION OF MONITORING STUDENTS` EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS IN MARITIME EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN KHERSON REGION (80 YEARS OF XX CENTURY)

Abstract

The article highlights the reformation of monitoring students` educational achievements in maritime educational institutions in Kherson region (80s of the XX century) and its pecularities. The orders, reports, minutes of methodological associations and pedagogical meetings and other documents, the content of which is related to the educational activity of maritime educational institutions in general and monitoring, are analyzed. An analysis of the historical literature showed that in the 80th, all educational institutions focused on a significant number of universities (including maritime) that do not provide high-quality of theoretical and practical training for graduates; in the educational process, the emphasis is on expanding the amount of information being learned rather than developing students' independent creative thinking skills; no attention is paid to individual work with students; teacher work standards exceed the optimum, which leads to decreasing in the quality of the educational process. The implementation of these regulations led to the significant changes in the pedagogical process and monitoring of educational achievements of students in marine educational institutions in Kherson region. The analysis of the pedagogical assemblies and methodical associations meetings showed that in the 80th the first attempts to organize the monitoring of students' educational achievements were actively used: the types of control (current, thematic and final) were distinguished at the meetings, all cadets were divided into groups in vocational-oriented disciplines (strong, weak and medium). In the article it is noted that ediucational achievements monitoring of the correspondence department students after the examination session, that a large number of correspondence students showed unsuccessful results, which is connected with increasing of requirements for educational activity. The educational institutions used the following methods of monitoring organization - subject commissions on specialties, which analyzed the activity of correspondence and full-time forms of education.
