THE «F.A.C.E. – THE CHALLENGE» METHODOLOGY AS A TOOLKIT FOR SOCIAL INITIATIVES OF THE KLITSCHKO FOUNDATION AND DFB-STIFTUNG EGIDIUS BRAUN
Abstract
The article analyzes the strategic significance of socio-pedagogical initiatives as a tool for fostering proactive leadership and soft skills among youth in the context of modern globalization challenges and the realities of war in Ukraine. The aim of the study is to provide a theoretical substantiation and practical analysis of the «F.A.C.E. – the Challenge» methodology as a key toolkit for implementing programs focused on intercultural integration and the personal development of adolescents. The paper highlights the transformation of the Klitschko Foundation from local charitable actions to large-scale project management for social change. Strategic initiatives such as «Play for Equality», «Parcel of Success», «Rozkvitay», and «Democracy Hub», which contribute to overcoming stereotypes and promoting democratic values, are examined in detail. Special attention is given to the international project «Interexchange Academy», implemented in partnership with the German Egidius Braun Foundation. It is established that this initiative creates a platform for profound intercultural dialogue between Ukrainian and German youth, helping to overcome mental barriers and fostering the social integration of refugees in Germany. It is proven that the synergy of physical conditioning and the development of psychological resilience allows participants to transform challenges into opportunities. The conclusions emphasize that the activities of these foundations serve as an example of effective «soft power» where sport becomes a foundation for cultivating a new generation of conscious citizens prepared for active participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and the strengthening of its positive image on the international stage.
