FORMING THE CONCEPT OF "ECOCIDE" IN FUTURE MANAGERS OF PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES UNDER CONDITIONS OF WAR AND POST-WAR RECONSTRUCTION
Abstract
The article considers the harmful impact of Russian aggression on infrastructure, functioning of natural life support systems, environment (namely, destruction of landscapes, ecosystems, habitats and populations; violation of the integrity of the Biosphere) and the provision of environmental services to the population of Ukraine.
The list of the most important components of environmental managers’ training in professional colleges in wartime has been substantiated. These include the formation of specialists capable of solving environmental problems of various levels of complexity, being aware of today's threats, knowing ways to prevent them and being prepared for adequate actions aimed at avoiding an environmental disaster.
The worldview significance of the fundamental general scientific and general biological concept of "ecocide" during the war and in the period of post-war reconstruction has been argued. The criteria for disclosing the content of the concept of "ecocide" proposed by a group of authors such as S. Baran, Ya. Didukh and others have been discussed. Ecocide criteria are defined by the anthropogenic impact that results in the disappearance or destruction of various objects, including endemic species of plants and animals, plant associations, plant communities (meadows, forests, etc.), biotopes (including both natural and semi-natural or artificial), objects of World or European natural heritage, as well as entire regions contaminated with radionuclides or destroyed landscapes. The content of the concept develops gradually as the level of organisation of living organisms and groups against which the crime of ecocide has been committed becomes more complex. The necessity of establishing logical connections between it and other concepts, understanding the dialectics of concepts and their use in the new conditions and realities of wartime have been substantiated.
