AXIOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES IN THE SOCIAL WORKER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY SYSTEM

Abstract

The article highlights the ideals of social work at the society's development stage as moral requirements and values, the practical embodiment of which is the creation of favourable conditions for the normal life of the client, ensuring his or her maximum self-realization under specific historical conditions, as well as the realization of human rights to freedom and justice, happiness and personal development. The following axiological foundations in the system of a social worker professional activity have been defined: the most important value of social work as a profession is its humanity; the social work values are primarily the welfare of man and society, human rights and individuality, professionalism, activity humanistic nature, etc. The priority of social work is not only to help people survive, but also to improve their mental and moral health, provide psychological and pedagogical assistance and support. The main contradiction of social work is the mismatch between the social service clients’ capabilities and their actual needs. Properly organized social work involves planning, designing, managing and organizing. Professional competence of social workers and their users means a perfect moral personality, both in status (economic, social and psychological position) and spirituality. A perfect relationship between a social worker and a client should include elements of co-creation, mutual support and respect for each other. The social work ideals at the present stage of society development are moral requirements and values, the practical implementation of which is to create favourable conditions for the client's normal life, to ensure maximum client self-realization according to specific historical conditions, human rights, freedom and justice, happiness and development. The humanistic sense of social work, to recognise a person as the highest value, promotion of the realization of such value and selfless assistance, is a unique value of social work. The value and the result of social work depend on the effectiveness degree of the main axiological functions, since the values universal system is one of the most important factors influencing the formation of social work values system as a profession.
