Abstract

The article presents the results of a scientific and theoretical study of continuous self-development. It has been found that there is a difficulty in distinguishing the subject of study of "self-development", since this concept is interpreted by scientists, depending on the scientific field of application, as: development, movement, orientation, ability, activity, desire and activity. In particular, in the philosophical context, the concept of "self-development" is interpreted as a primary social problem that requires thorough understanding and arises as a result of intra-personal freedom, contributing to the change of personal states, where each subsequent one corresponds to a fuller, richer, more perfect being; in the psychological - as a kind of human activity that manifests itself in an active position in relation to the outside world, therefore it can be described using a certain psychological mechanism; in the pedagogical - as a personal desire of an individual to increase the level of his or her own competence with the help of certain types of activities that contribute to their improvement or formation. It has been established that continuous self-development in the professional formation of an individual is a primary task, and his or her desire for constant improvement and development is an important prerequisite for self-affirmation and self-realization.
The concept of "continuous self-development of future rescuers in the field of human security" is defined as a complex, conscious, continuous and dynamic process aimed at self-organization, self-upbringing, self-education and realization of potential on the way to achieving competence and professionalism in situations of uncertainty. The civil protection service specialists’ understanding of the continuity of self-development and its vectoriality contributes to the self-realization of their personal values, the formation of competence, the creation of a positive image, and the avoidance of negative psycho-emotional stress.
