SOCIAL WORK WITH WOMEN IN SITUATIONS OF VIOLENCE IN DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILIES

Abstract

The article identifies the relevance of the problem of violence against women in dysfunctional families and reveals the ways of social assistance to them and prevention of complications in the family. The phenomenon of violence against women is characterized from the point of view of physical, psychological, sexual or economic direction. The content of the concept and the status of the dysfunctional family, which is connected with the specific situation of the existence of the family, on which the essence of the process of personality formation will depend, have been revealed.
The reasons for family dysfunction, such as psychological, pedagogical, legal illiteracy, alcohol and drug addiction of family members, economic instability, unemployment, lack of understanding of life goals and means of achieving them, have been identified, and their impact on the risk and perpetration of violence against women in dysfunctional families has been substantiated.
The content of the root causes of violence has been listed and revealed from the point of view of a retrospective review of the problem and taking into account the opinions of supporters of psychological theories and theories of social causation.
It is emphasized that the causes of violence have been multiple and determined by a set of interrelated factors. The possibility of influence of some on the crucial importance of others in dysfunctional families has been emphasized.
The need for qualified assistance to women who have become victims of domestic violence, specialists in the field of social work, social educators and psychologists, etc., has been proven. Social protection of women, in particular in dysfunctional families, has been represented in the article as a holistic system of social prevention, which is based on clearly formulated principles and legal acts.
The possibilities and expediency of social prevention of violence against women in dysfunctional families have been substantiated; the content and purpose of its three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary have been revealed. It is concluded that the effectiveness of social work with women who have become or could potentially become victims of violence will be facilitated by a set of preventive measures to prevent men’s cruel treatment of them, and directions of work to overcome the consequences of domestic violence against them in dysfunctional families.
