MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE THE RATIONALIZATION OF THE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM AT THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL
Abstract
The article is devoted to solving the problem of finding the most effective ways to implement new approaches to assessing students’ educational achievements.
In accordance with modern state requirements and the Concept of the new Ukrainian school, methodological principles for determining student learning outcomes, which the internal school assessment system should be focused on, have been highlighted.
The results of a survey of teachers from pilot educational institutions in the Zaporizhzhia region have been presented, which made it possible to identify aspects for adjustment and improvement in the school assessment system.
The essence of the concept of "rationalization" as one of the directions for optimizing the educational process in the New Ukrainian School has been clarified. The basic principles of rationalization in organizing assessment have been named. Indicators of the effectiveness of applying rationalization practices in relation to assessing students’ educational achievements have been determined.
The practices of rationalizing the assessment system, which can be used by representatives of management teams in their own educational institutions, have been described in detail. This, in particular, is the development by the management team of an annual assessment plan; changing approaches to the final semester assessment of soft skills; introduction of automation of the process of criterion-based assessment of students’ educational achievements during distance and blended learning; conditions for preserving resources (time, physical strength, energy) when a teacher keeps a diary of observations.
The content of the article proves that targeted management activities to ensure the rationalization of the system of assessment activities in the New Ukrainian School will help improve the quality of all educational levels; will allow optimizing the work of the teaching staff in this direction; systematizes the process of realizing the right of every student to a fair, impartial, objective and virtuous assessment of his educational achievements.
