SOME DIRECTIONS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A POSITIVE FOREIGN EXPERIENCE OF HEALTH CARE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE MODERN CONDITIONS OF THE REFORM OF THE DOMESTIC EDUCATION SYSTEM
Abstract
The article updates the need to study positive experience abroad regarding the implementation of students’ health care education in education institutions under today’s conditions.
It is emphasized that this need is caused, in particular, by the transfer of topics related to the problem of human health into an "interdisciplinary" dimension, presentation of this information content in the course "I explore the world" (primary school), introduction to the curricula of the discipline "Health, safety and well-being", development of several model curricula ‒ matrices, based on which teachers can develop their own curricula (primary school).
It is established that the New Ukrainian School repeats the path that Polish education, in particular, took at one time, when various variants of health care education programs were developed. Some aspects of the theoretical and practical heritage of Polish scientists, educators, social and educational figures are represented, the use of which enables a new vision of the implementation of education for students’ health in general secondary education institutions in Ukraine. The psychological-pedagogical and professional-preparatory level of the relevant recommendations is characterized. In particular, the stages of health care education are highlighted, namely: the stage of heteroeducation; the intermediate stage; the stage of self-education; the stage of inverted heteroeducation (inversion). The thesis presents some aspects of the educational and didactic plan of future teachers’ training for the formation of health care knowledge, skills and abilities.
It has been concluded that the views and proposals presented in the article relate to the desired optimal solutions, different time limits are needed for the practical implementation of the proposed recommendations.
A number of promising problems for further scientific research are proposed, namely: actualization of the idea of defining at the national level the problem of health-preserving education of children and youth as an indispensable condition for the self-strengthening of the Ukrainian nation; mass anti-nicotine and anti-alcohol education among students; recreational rest and health improvement of children and youth.
