FORMATION OF SOFT SKILLS AS PREDICTORS OF PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS OF FUTURE TEACHERS
Abstract
The article examines the issue of the formation of soft skills of future teachers as basic factors that determine future professional success.
The special relevance of soft skills for future teachers, their future professional success and high level of competitiveness is emphasized. It was determined that the issue of the development of "skills of the future" has already been repeatedly considered by both foreign (R. Bolstad, G. Claxton, G. Powell, R. Hipkins, etc.) and domestic (E. Hayduchenko, N. Zhadko, T. Kozhushkina, L. Familyarska, etc.) scientists.
The terminological apparatus of the research is analyzed. It is noted that in the scientific field today there are many disputes about the importance of soft skills over hard skills. The first are called "future skills", "success skills", "career dominants", etc.
It is noted that the World Economic Forum identifies the following ten most important skills of the future in 2025: analytical thinking and innovation, active learning and learning strategies, complex problem solving, critical thinking and analysis, creativity, originality and initiative, leadership and social impact, use of technology, monitoring and control, technology design and programming, stress resistance and flexibility, ability to argue points of view, problem solving and idea generation.
In order to find out the most important skills for the professional success of future teachers, a survey of education seekers was conducted. It was found that almost all students consider soft skills to be a necessary component of successful teaching. Critical thinking, stress resistance, communication, and digital literacy are among the most important soft skills for teachers.
The article describes the forms and methods of teaching in a higher education institution that will contribute to the development of students’ soft skills.
