THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORK

Abstract

The article analyzes the main components of the content of such concepts as "social work", "maintenance of social work", "structure of social work", "professional social work"; the terms of forming social work as professions are presented; the theoretical aspects of becoming and development of social work as sciences are exposed in Ukraine.
It is determined that social work can be considered as a kind of model of social assistance, which society implements in a specific historical period according to the features of the state social policy, socio-political development, and national-cultural heritage.
In the article on results the generalized analysis of pedagogical, psychological, sociological researches scientific principles of becoming of social work as professions are exposed; scientific essence of concepts is certain: "maintenance of social work", "professional activity", "development worker"; the modern level of social work is found out as science and practical activity.
Theoretical pre-conditions of becoming and development of professional social work are exposed and analysed. An aim, task, elements of processes of scientific cognition of professional social work, is considered. The socio-economic factors that contributed to the emergence and development of social work as science and professional activity are defined and shown.
The prerequisites of social work as professional activity in Ukraine and the process of its formation are highlighted. Basic modern scientific approaches of social work are analysed, the system of public welfare is described in practical activity of development workers.
Drawn conclusion, that efficiency and expediency of professional social work it is possible on condition of corresponding social and economic changes, and it in turn needs readiness from society.
