HUMANITIES AS FACTORS OF INFLUENCE ON THE FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCY OF THE FUTURE MARITIME SPECIALIST (THE 2ND PART OF THE 20TH CENTURY – BEGINNING OF THE 21 CENTURY)

Abstract

The article considers the professional competency of future maritime specialists and highlights the impact of the humanities on its formation.
Examples of the main normative legal acts that had an impact on the content of education are given, namely the Law of Ukraine «About Higher Education», «About Education», the State National Program «Education» («Ukraine of the XXI сentury»), Concepts of National Education, National Doctrine development of education in the XXI century, the Maritime Doctrine of Ukraine for the period up to 2035 (as amended in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 1108 of 18.12.2018).
The curriculum for the specialty 14.03 Operation of ship power plants (specialization 14.03.01 For the Navy) is analyzed in order to compare the number of hours devoted to the study of disciplines of socio-humanitarian and natural cycles with special cycle disciplines, which in independent Ukraine have increased due to revival and humanitarization of the education system.
The list of humanities, which in the early 90’s became more in connection with the revival and humanitarization of the education system. Thus, in accordance with the Instruction Letter of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine /1 / 9-64 of 19.05.1993 «About the teaching of social sciences and humanities» in the curriculum appeared such humanities as: «World History», «History of Ukraine», «Business Ukrainian Language», «World Literature», «Biology», «Geography», «Philosophy with Religious Studies», «Science of Law», «Fundamentals of Economic Theory», «Additional Training of Young Men», «Fundamentals of Social Ecology», «Political Science», «Sociology», «Ukrainian and Foreign Culture».
The leading components of professional competency of students are identified, which are based on the implementation of organizational, cognitive, ideological, technological and communicative operational processes.
The study found that the humanities play an important role in training and developing the professional competency of future professionals in the maritime field, the mastery of which in the future will serve as a basis for professional and personal self-realization.
