INNOVATIONS IN THE FORMATION OF SOCIAL AND CIVIC COMPETENCES OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ON THE BASIS OF CONCEPTS OF THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL
Abstract
The article reveals innovations in the content and technologies of formation of social and civic competencies of junior schoolchildren in the context of the requirements of the New Ukrainian School. Besides, the definitions of the words «competence», «social competence», «civic competence» are revealed on the analysis of scientific sources and regulatory framework.
The key ideas of the integrated course «I explore the world» in primary school are considered, among them a significant place is given to interactive technologies of learning aimed at realization of implementing the activity approach, formation of key and subject competencies, developing social and civic behaviors.
The authors highlight the peculiarities of the formation of social and civic competencies of primary school students in the process of learning of the integrated course «I explore the world», in particular, the use of different groups of interactive learning technologies: cooperative, collective group, situational modeling, discussion issues. It is noted that in the process of teaching of the integrated course «I explore the world» there is an interactive interaction of participants in the educational process, during which both a teacher and students perform creative tasks together, participate in dialogue, discussion, offer joint solutions based on the analysis of circumstances and situations, make informed decisions. A new subject is aimed at the development of the critical thinking, pro-social skills, interpersonal skills and information literacy of students in the context of civic education.
The interactive exercises used by the teacher in the educational process in order to form life competencies, ensure a positive microclimate in the classroom, success, tolerant interaction are highlighted.
