PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION OF PARENTS OF PRIMARY SCHOOLCHILDREN IN THE CONTEXT OF THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL
Abstract
The features of pedagogical education of parents of primary schoolchildren are analyzed in the context of New Ukrainian school. Socio-psychological and pedagogical requirements to parents were singled out and characterized.
Two main ways of successful cooperation between the school and parents for the development of partnership were defined: constant, clear, two-way communication; different ways of involving parents in the educational process. The main directions of work on pedagogical education of parents of junior schoolchildren in the context of the New Ukrainian school were presented.General teaching of the adults with the basics of family education – through the media (internet – e-platform "New Ukrainian School": portal "Teacher’s Room" – informational, methodical and consulting support from teachers and school principals, organization of teacher communities,portal "Parents’ Committee / Council" – designed to create communities of parents, support their communication; television, press); preparation of parents for raising children – in educational institutions; preparation of young people for family life – in general secondary education institutions; in young family clubs; in the system of seminars, courses, etc.; preparation for motherhood – in women’s and children’s consultations; preparation of teachers to work with parents – in higher education institutions, courses, seminars, etc.The experience of the City Parents’ Council of the Department of Education of the Kharkiv City Council was introduced. A short syllabus of the workshop on pedagogical education of parents of primary school pupils "Around children together" was presented, in which the duration and structure of training were defined (4 months, 2 modules, 8 topics, 17 tasks), forms of education (micro-teaching, independent study, individual tasks, consultations), and the result of learning - the acquisition by parents of knowledge in psychology, pedagogy, physiology of the child, legislative framework of the family’s functioning, developing appropriate skills in raising children.
