INTENSIFICATION OF EXTRACURRICULAR WORK ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH WRITING COMPETENCE OF PUPILS OF GENERAL SECONDARY EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of ways to intensify extracurricular activities for the development of English writing competence of pupils of general secondary education institutions.
It is emphasised that extracurricular work on the development of English writing competence has a very important role in the educational process. It is noted that the strong interconnection and combination of classroom and extracurricular activities with the inclusion of independent work can help to achieve the maximum development of English writing competence of pupils of general secondary education institutions.
The measures to intensify the development of English writing competence of pupils of general secondary education institutions, including the combination of different forms, methods and tools within the group "Writing For Pleasure" and the platform "World of English Writing" have been proposed.
With the help of the analysis the ways of intensification of extracurricular work on the development of English writing competence of pupils of general secondary education institutions have been specified. The author has proposed such ways as taking into account the age and individual characteristics of pupils’ physical and mental development; taking into account interests, requests, desires, inclinations, worldview, emotional and sensory sphere and a pupil’s status in a team; the possibility of individualisation of the content, methods and pace of educational activities of each pupil individually and all together; creation in the conditions of extracurricular work on the development of English writing competence subject-to-subject interaction between a teacher and pupils, as well as pupils among themselves; combining different forms, methods and tools for the development of English writing competence; use of modern information technologies, means of Internet telephony, etc.
