HISTORICAL ASPECT OF THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPMENT OF MARITIME EDUCATION IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of the historical and pedagogical aspect of the problem of development of maritime education, in particular the influence of factors on its formation and development in Ukraine of the second half of the XVIII century to the present. The author substantiates the urgency of the problem, clarifies the content of key concepts, analyzes the periodizations available today which developed by modern historians of pedagogy. The lower limit of the process of formation of the industry is detected, which is associated primarily with the creation of the first institutions for the training of maritime transport workers in the then education, identified the vectors and dynamics of changes in this process in a wide chronological range.
The study of historical and pedagogical scientific works in this area made it possible to trace the main changes in the development of domestic maritime education, the impact on their dynamics of scientific and technological progress, the social order that prevailed at different stages of system development, specific economic determinants that significantly transformed the industry. An attempt is made to trace the nature of changes in this period.
Given the high demands that have always been put forward to the level of professional training of a maritime worker, the main documents governing the activities of maritime education institutions, affect the nature of training and professional development of maritime transport professionals.
It has been found that the modern requirements for the development of maritime education content have become much more complex. At the same time, the classical principles outlined in the days of the first maritime education institutions remain relevant today. Accordingly, based on a retrospective analysis of processes in this period, the mechanisms of modern continuing professional development of seafarers in the education system are identified, the difficulties and nature of changes in the analyzed system are indicated, the prospects in this area of educational activities are projected.
Based on the analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature, the main achievements of the system, the possibility of extrapolating the constructive experience of the past into the modern theory and practice of maritime education are revealed, which is constantly being updated.
